FAQFrequently asked questions about Japanese weddings
About application and arrangement
- How should I apply?
- First of all, please participate in our bridal fair. We will propose a Japanese wedding according to your wishes. Once you have decided on the style and shrine you want, we will check the availability. For reservations at the shrine, after checking the availability, the two of you will contact the shrine yourself and make an application.
- How do I arrange for costumes?
- We will introduce you to our affiliated costume shops. We also have four costume shops that handle Japanese clothing, so you can rest assured that you will be able to choose from a wide range of costumes.
- Does the photographer also shoot wedding ceremonies at shrines?
- Yes, photography is possible. However, please note that depending on the shrine, there are some places where photography is not possible. Our photographer will travel to the shrine to take the photos, in which case a separate travel fee will be required. Also, depending on the shrine, there may be a separate fee for bringing in the photographer, so please check with the shrine you are making a reservation with.
- How will you arrange transportation for yourself and your guests?
- For Soudou original Japanese weddings, we ask that you walk to Gesshin-in Temple. In the case of a shrine, we will arrange a bridal taxi for the two of you. If guests can tell us the number of cars they want, we will arrange a car dispatch between the shrine and Soudou for both going and returning. We will bill the two of you at a later date for the fee for the meter of the taxi that the guest took.
About the day
- Is it possible to make a reservation for dressing and hair setting?
- Yes, that is possible. The plan includes the cost of dressing for the couple, so please rest assured. As for the guests, if you wish, we can dress them in kimono and do their hair at Soudo before heading to the shrine. We will confirm whether or not you would like to have the guests dressed in kimono during the meeting.
- What happens to the garden ceremony if it rains?
- Two hours before the wedding start time, we will judge whether it is possible to have the ceremony outside, and if it is difficult, the ceremony will be held at the Soudou chapel. Our staff will inform the guests about this on the day of the event and guide them to the wedding venue.
